I bought my first smart home hub about three years ago.
I spent about $1,200 on it.
I was skeptical at first, because the device had a single port and no Bluetooth.
The product page had the word “T-Mobile” written on it, which didn’t sound too promising.
But, after seeing a lot of smart home hubs on Amazon, I realized there was a lot to like about them.
They looked smart, and they worked, and I could buy a lot more stuff.
I have since moved to a bigger hub, which is actually much more robust and has two ports, and the new hub looks like the one I used before.
But I still had a couple concerns: It would be harder to figure out how to set up the hub correctly, and it would have to be plugged into the wall socket, which meant a $30 investment.
That didn’t seem worth it, but a few months later, I bought the smart hub.
And now it’s a $3,000 device, and all the features I had hoped for, like a remote, have been delivered.
Here’s how to turn your $1 smart hub into a $20,000 home automation hub.
What You’ll Need The hub is a smart home automation device, which you can buy for $15.
You’ll need: An HDMI cable (optional, but recommended) A computer to run the app You’ll also need: A smart phone or tablet with a built-in HDMI cable, USB Type-C port, and microphone A wireless network connection to your home network.
To set up a smart hub, follow these steps: Go to the Amazon Alexa website.
In the Alexa app, click “Create a Home Assistant account.”
Then, under “Home Assistant,” enter your username and password, and select “Create Home Assistant Account.”
You’ll get a confirmation email.
In the Amazon app, select “My Home.”
From the list, select the “Hubs” tab.
Select “My Smart Home Hub.”
Select “Add a Hub.”
Then click “Add Hub.”
On the home automation page, enter your email address.
Select the “Email Address” box.
In your email, enter the email address of the smart home device you want to connect to your network.
Click the “Add” button.
Then select “Set up Hub” from the drop-down menu.
Select your smart home devices from the list and click “Next.”
When you’re finished setting up the Hubs section, click the “Sign Out” button at the bottom of the page.
Click OK to close the Hub page.
If you don’t see an “OK” button, click OK again to continue.
Now you can add your smart devices to your smart network.
Once you’ve added your smart device, you can plug it into your network and watch Alexa do what you want.
But before you do, you’ll need to enable “Smart Home” on the smart device.
Click on the “Settings” icon in the upper right corner of the home control page, and then “Advanced Settings.”
Under “Device settings,” enable “Enabled Smart Home” to “Yes.”
You may have to turn this setting off again, because some smart home gadgets won’t work.
On the “Device” page, select your smart hub and click the “+” button next to “Enable Smart Home.”
The device will now start working with Alexa.
