Chrome Store is a great tool to download, install, and manage Chrome extensions.
While extensions are not required, if you do want to use them in your apps, you should be aware of some caveats.
If you are using a mobile device, it may be hard to see extensions in the extensions list and vice versa.
You should also be aware that if you use extensions to launch your app, they may not work with the browser, which is why you should install a third-party extension to help you launch your application.

To install an extension, navigate to Chrome Extensions > Extensions in the Chrome browser.
When you have installed an extension from the Extensions menu, you can check to see if the extension is currently installed or not.
If it is installed, you may click the Install extension button.
If the extension doesn’t install, click the Cancel button.
You will now be able to install the extension in Chrome.
Once the extension has been installed, click Install in the extension list to open the installation wizard.
If a new tab appears in the installation dialog, click Open in the tab.
The installation wizard will create a shortcut to your app’s Chrome extension folder.
If this folder is present, it will open a new page to manage your extensions.
This page contains your extension’s installation information, including the extension’s version number and a link to download the extension.
If your extension has multiple versions, the version number will be listed in the lower right-hand corner of the page.
In addition, if an extension is in beta or a preview, you will see the version of the extension at the bottom of the installation page.

If all is well, you’ll see a message indicating that the installation has completed successfully.
The extension will now have an icon in the browser extension menu, as shown in the following image.
Clicking this icon opens the Extensions tab in the Extensions window.
In this tab, you must click the link for the extension you just installed, or you will not be able for some time to launch the extension and continue with the installation process.
After the installation completes successfully, you are presented with a new Chrome extension.
You can open this extension in the chrome browser by selecting it in the tabs list or by clicking the icon in your extension manager.
If an extension does not have a manifest file, the extension will appear in the manifest tab.

In the extensions window, click on the icon for the current extension in your extensions list to display a list of extensions that are installed.
If no extension appears, then the extension does have an installed manifest file.
You must download this file and install it.
To do so, open Chrome Extensions in your browser.
Click the icon to open a popup window with a list, as in the image below.
On the popup window, right-click the extension name in the list and select Properties.
Click on the General tab.
Select the Add to Extensions tab.
This opens the Add Extensions button.
At the bottom, click Browse to navigate to where you installed the extension, as illustrated in the below image.
In Chrome Extensions, click Next to begin the installation.
The add-on will now appear in Chrome Extensions as shown above.
If any of the extensions are still not installed, open the Extensions Manager window and select the Extensions folder in the folder that is currently selected in the Add extensions window.
If none of the Extensions are installed, then a dialog box will appear asking you to add them.
To add a new extension, select it in a list or right-Click the extension icon and select Add New to add the extension to your extension list.
If there are no extensions installed, a message will appear saying the extension was added.
This will open the Add Extension window.
You are now able to launch and launch your extension in a new browser tab.
If Chrome is not open or the extension not installed in the existing Chrome extension manager, Chrome will prompt you to install it again.

The new Chrome window will open with a link showing you which extension is open in Chrome and the extension manager window that will show you which extensions are available.
If one of the applications is open, you need to choose which extension to launch.
If that extension is a browser extension, you could open it by selecting the extension from that browser’s extension manager and clicking the link in the popup box.
If two or more extensions are open in a Chrome extension list, you also need to select which extension will launch first.
The launcher should be selected and open.
